Meet Teri

RiA Coach

National University Los Angeles

A Personal Note from Teri

I am "Nana" to five grandchildren for whom I love to write children’s literature and bake gingerbread which makes my husband (Papa) very happy too. We have been happily married for 40 years. After a twenty-year career of public school leadership, I was invited to consider the position of faculty of Educational Leadership where I currently serve as full professor in Los Angeles.

My husband is a retired high school Athletic Director and varsity baseball coach who continues to serve as his league’s coordinator in addition to his teaching at the Master’s level for three universities. To highlight his wonderful forty-one-year coaching career at our local high school the community honored him by naming it, Joe Marcos Field. Our son, following in his dad’s footsteps, is a high school physical educator and varsity baseball coach. Our daughter is an Educational Specialist who teaches Special Education at the elementary level. Our son, having also played collegiate ball, holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, and our daughter holds a Master’s degree in Special Education.

I work as an executive coach to public, private, and international school administrators consulting with leaders and Boards as they design strategies to optimize planful growth through their organizational challenges and opportunities. I coach both school administrators and school Boards in support of their mindfulness concerning individuals, teams, and organizations as related to the metaphor of the integrity of a rope. Often, organizational opportunities are discovered and developed through one or more of these strands. In my spare time I enjoy walking, writing, cooking and baking, and playing the piano.

My passion is to synthesize a variety of effective approaches purposely tailored to respond to the challenges and opportunities of individuals, teams and organizations. My strength is a personalized approach to assist the discovery and development of transformative interpersonal organizational learning grounded in reflective and productive socio-emotional practice.
